The Clavinova brand made its debut in 1983, embodying the concept of bringing new types of keyboard instruments into the world. The name “Clavinova” is a portmanteau of the Latin words “clavier” (keyed instrument) and “nova” (new), and encapsulates Yamaha’s ambition to continue proposing new value for keyboards. The brand evolved into its present form with the CLP, CSP, and CVP Series that provide customers with different ways to play and enjoy music. With Clavinova pianos, Yamaha has harnessed the latest technology to create a new standard for the modern era—authentic playability and physical presence approaching levels of acoustic grand pianos, with the convenience and fun only digital pianos can provide.
